Bleach spots are missing dye, not a stain, and no cleaning puts color back. Furniture-leg dents can be steamed up but deep ones stay. Wear patterns where the pile has been abraded flat do not clean out; they are physical damage.

Carpet that was cleaned with a rental machine and left soapy will look worse a week after a real cleaning unless the residue is neutralized in the rinse. We do that, and it is the reason a professional cleaning stays clean longer.
