About Seattle

Seattle proper is a patchwork of eras: 1900s–1920s Craftsman and box houses on the older ridges, 1940s war housing in the south end, mid-century ramblers in the north, and a decade of new townhomes and condo towers everywhere in between. The one constant is that the city gets 150-plus days of measurable rain a year and most of those days someone walks in with wet shoes.

Everything from 1910s Craftsman bungalows with original fir floors and a single area rug to glass condo towers with wall-to-wall carpet in the bedrooms. Old houses often have retrofitted ducts in the crawlspace; new towers have long dryer vent runs. Older Seattle houses often have original fir floors under later carpet, retrofitted forced-air ducts snaking through the crawlspace, and a single wool rug in the living room that has been there for decades. Townhomes from the 2010s on have laundry closets with roof-vented dryers and long, kinked transition hoses. Condo towers have glued-down commercial carpet in the corridors and shared vent stacks.

The seasons in Seattle

The wet season runs from the first week of October to mid-May. In that window carpet never fully dries between vacuuming, pad holds moisture, and a house that smells fine in August smells like a basement by February. Spring brings alder and cottonwood pollen through every open window and into the ductwork; recent Augusts have brought wildfire smoke that settles into sofas, drapes and the furnace blower.

Renters, landlords and turnover

Seattle has one of the highest renter shares of any big U.S. city, and turnover peaks in June through September. Move-out inspections, pet-deposit disputes and the receipt a landlord wants are a daily part of our work here.

Locally owned, not a franchise

We are deeply rooted in this part of Washington. Our family runs Quite Clean Laundry on Tukwila International Boulevard, our cleaning yard is on S Cloverdale St in Seattle, and the King County customers who first called us as PNW Carpet & Duct Cleaning in 2019 are still calling the same number. That matters for carpet and duct cleaning in Seattle in a practical way: the tech has seen your kind of house before, knows what the soil is here, and has a boss he can call from your driveway if something unusual comes up.

How we reach Seattle

Our yard is in South Park on S Cloverdale St, so central and south Seattle are our shortest drives of the day. Our yard is on S Cloverdale St in South Park, so the south and central neighborhoods are minutes away and a van is almost always in the city.

Mo was very friendly and hard working! He was willing to go back over a couple spots, and not afraid of communicating with me even though we used Google Translate. The carpet looks as good as any carpet that's 30 years old should look! So thank you very much, Mo.

Wonderful experience. I called around noon time and we were done with our service at 5:30! Our split king mattresses were steam cleaned. They look and smell amazing! The tech that came out took the time to explain the process and show us. We have lots of kids and a geriatric dog all present. Didn't phase him a bit!
