How to prepare your home for carpet cleaning
Ten minutes of prep makes the cleaning better and faster.
Vacuum if you can. We pre-vacuum anyway, but if you get the loose surface debris the tech's time goes to actual cleaning. Pick up small items off the floor: toys, shoes, cords, pet bowls, plants. Move breakables and lamps off small tables we might move.
Furniture
We move sofas, chairs and light pieces. Beds, dressers, entertainment centers and anything with electronics stay put. If you want the carpet under a heavy piece cleaned, move it beforehand or let us know and we will do what we can.
Pets and kids
Keep pets in a room we are not cleaning or outside. The truck is loud, the hoses run through the door, and dogs love to escape. Kids are welcome to watch from a safe distance.
Parking and access
The truck needs to park within about 150 feet of the door for the hoses to reach. Let us know about gates, stairs, elevators or parking restrictions. Condo buildings often require us to book the loading zone.
Point out the problems
Walk the tech through the spots you care about most and tell them the history — what the stain is and what you have already tried. It changes the pre-treatment.
