What housing inspections look for and how to schedule cleaning around a PCS timeline.
Clearing quarters at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, or moving out of an off-base rental in Lakewood, DuPont, Spanaway or Yelm, usually means a carpet cleaning receipt is part of the checklist. We do a lot of these and we know the standard.
Timing
PCS season peaks in summer and everyone is trying to clean the same week. Book as soon as you have orders and a move-out date. We block time for PCS moves in June, July and August. We can clean the day the movers finish or the morning of the inspection.
What inspectors look at
Traffic lanes, spots, pet odor and the overall condition compared to move-in. Privatized housing may specify professional cleaning; ask your housing office what they require and we will match it on the receipt.
Pets
Military families have pets, and pet treatment is usually required if you had one. Tell us and we will do UV inspection, enzyme treatment and note it on the receipt.
