Everything from 1940s Boeing-era bungalows near downtown to new construction in the Highlands and Fairwood, with a lot of townhomes that vent dryers through the roof. In Renton that means a wide range of furniture, from decades-old wool sofas to microfiber sectionals, and each one gets cleaned according to its cleaning code and fabric rather than one setting for everything. We hear a version of this from Renton every few weeks.

What Renton homes bring us

The Renton pieces we clean most are sectionals in family rooms and dining chairs, followed by recliners and the guest-room loveseat that has quietly become the dog's bed. We work in The Highlands, Fairwood and Kennydale and throughout the city. Nothing about that is unusual for Renton — we see it often.

For upholstery cleaning in Renton that means dealing with family rooms that see rain gear, wet dogs and a lot of takeout on the couch. Over one hundred thousand live here across zip codes 98055, 98056, 98057, 98058, 98059, and the neighborhoods we visit most are The Highlands, Fairwood, Kennydale, Benson Hill, Cascade and Skyway.

The classic South King house is a 1960s or 70s rambler or split-level with the original sheet-metal ducts, a daylight basement that stays damp, and carpet that has been replaced once, maybe twice, since the house was built. The newer plateau subdivisions in Covington, Maple Valley and Lea Hill all hit the ten-to-twenty-year mark at once, which is when builder carpet and never-cleaned ducts both need attention. Apartment complexes along Pacific Highway and International Boulevard turn over constantly. The Landing and downtown Renton have a dense mix of apartments and restaurants that book us for after-hours commercial cleaning.

Neighborhood by neighborhood

  • The Highlands customers tend to book us in the spring and again before the holidays, which is the rhythm we recommend for upholstery cleaning.
  • Rentals in Fairwood turn over regularly, and a good share of our Fairwood work is turnover cleaning with a receipt for the landlord.
  • In Kennydale we often bundle upholstery cleaning with a second service, because the truck is already running and the add-on is priced accordingly.
  • Benson Hill has a lot of homes where a previous pet left its mark; a UV inspection before upholstery cleaning is worth asking for there.
  • Parking and access in Cascade is easy for our vans, so it is one of the Renton neighborhoods where same-day is most realistic.

From Renton the van usually continues to Tukwila (about 10 minutes from our yard), Newcastle (about 22 minutes from our yard), SeaTac (about 14 minutes from our yard), Mercer Island (about 20 minutes from our yard) on the same day, which is how upholstery cleaning in Renton stays at our base rate: the drive is shared across the route.

Why it matters here

We test before we clean because the cost of getting it wrong is a shrunken cover or browned fibers. Microfiber gets a low-moisture pass, velvet gets groomed, cotton and linen get hot water extraction, and leather is a different job we will tell you about honestly. Renton sends us this exact kind of job on a normal week.

Winter is sofa season: everyone is inside, the dog is on the couch, the takeout is on the couch, and the rain gear gets draped over the arm. A mid-winter sofa cleaning is the most noticeable single improvement in a family room. Renton customers describe it to us the same way, almost word for word.

Jobs like yours

A week before Thanksgiving a woman called after hours with what she described as an upholstery emergency. The owner took the call, found a slot the next morning, and spent several hours on the sofa himself. It was ready for the holiday. That review is still one of our favorites. Renton sends us this exact kind of job on a normal week.

Locally owned, not a franchise

We are deeply rooted in this part of Washington. Our family runs Quite Clean Laundry on Tukwila International Boulevard, our cleaning yard is on S Cloverdale St in Seattle, and the King County customers who first called us as PNW Carpet & Duct Cleaning in 2019 are still calling the same number. That matters for upholstery cleaning in Renton in a practical way: the tech has seen your kind of house before, knows what the soil is here, and has a boss he can call from your driveway if something unusual comes up.

How the visit goes

The tech starts with a fabric id and spot test and ends with a fabric protector (optional) and dry; what happens in between is on the upholstery cleaning page. What does not change from house to house in Renton: you hear the price first, and it does not move. The sofa is the most common add-on to a carpet cleaning; the dining chairs and a mattress are the most common add-ons to a sofa. It is a familiar story on our Renton route.

What we will tell you honestly

Some fabrics — silk, some viscose blends, unfinished leather, anything coded X — should not be wet-cleaned at all. We will tell you and, for leather, refer you to a specialist rather than risk it. We tell every Renton customer the same thing before we start.

Pricing in Renton

Renton is about 18 minutes from our yard in South Park. That is close enough to quote at our base rate and close enough that same-day is realistic when you call before noon. The number the tech gives you on the walk-through is the number on the receipt, and the walk-through is free.

The guys did a wonderful job of making sure my carpets looked great, smelled great, and cleaned my sectional so good! My friend came to visit while they were working and was equally impressed. She's going to be booking soon! They cleaned four rooms and a sectional. One room had heavy pet stains and an odor so bad I closed up the room and stuffed towels at the base. The smell is completely gone after they used the pet cleaner.

Kal and Mike did a great job cleaning a recliner and my bedroom. I had many stains of an unknown origin that I couldn't clean with canned store bought cleaner. He was able to make my carpet look new. I highly recommend this service. Totally professional and reasonably priced. 6 stars.

Mo did a great job! He cleaned our place thoroughly and carefully dried the wooden floor after he had done the job. He finished all rooms including sectional within 2 hours! Wonderful job and highly recommended.

Upholstery Cleaning in Renton: questions

How long does upholstery take to dry?
Two to six hours for most fabric. Microfiber and thin cotton dry fastest; thick chenille and heavy cushion foam take longest. Do not put cushion covers back on until the foam is fully dry.
Can you remove pet odor from a couch?
Yes, if the urine has not soaked through the foam core. Enzyme treatment removes odor in the fabric and the top of the cushion. If the foam is saturated, we will tell you honestly what the outcome is likely to be.
Do you serve all of Renton?
Yes — The Highlands, Fairwood, Kennydale, Benson Hill, Cascade and Skyway and everything in between. Renton is an easy run from our yard.
How soon can you get to Renton?
Often the same day if you call before noon; otherwise within a day or two. Renton is on our daily routes.
